Savoring the Shore is a cookbook that was created in response to Sandy devastation and is available for purchase at various locations in Ocean County. The cookbook is filled with 150+ recipes from all-star chefs, local restaurateurs and home cooks. Proceed benefit Sandy relief rebuilding efforts at the Jersey Shore.
Chefs represented in the book include Joe Leone Introna of Joe Leone’s in Point Pleasant Beach and Sea Girt, Jason Crispin of Gourmand Cooking School in Point Pleasant Beach, Marilyn Schlossbach of Labrador Lounge in Normandy Beach, and Mike Jurusz of Chef Mike’s ABG in Seaside Park, and many more.
Mother/daughter cookbook compilers Cheryl Larkin and Kate Kurelja note, “The purpose of Savoring the Shore is to celebrate the Jersey Shore and to act on the idea that every little bit helps as we work together to rebuild and recover after Sandy.” The Larkins’ cottage in Point Pleasant Beach was spared by Sandy but the two were spurred on by the destruction up and down the shore.
“Savoring” is available at Borden’s and at Joe Leone’s in Point Pleasant Beach and at Mueller’s Bakery and at Life’s Miracles Photography in Bay Head.
