4th of July 2011 is finally here in Ocean County. Every Independence Day, people travel to the Jersey Shore to celebrate this patriotic holiday. Going to the beach or having a BBQ is part of what makes 4th of July in Ocean County so great. That’s why we put together a comprehensive look at 4th of July in Ocean County– from concerts to parades and all of the fireworks. Here is our Official Guide to 4th of July 2011 in Ocean County:
Lakewood: On Sunday July 3rd, Lakewood has their celebration. JR Mash will be providing the DJ Entertainment, which begins at 8PM at the amphitheatre on North Lake Drive. The fireworks commence at 9:15 and can be seen all over Lake Carasaljo.
Brick: There will be fireworks during the Summerfest Concert on June 30th beginning at dusk. The musical act will be Jimmy and the Parrots, a tribute band to Jimmy Buffet.
Point Pleasant Beach: As always, Jenkinson’s Boardwalk will be sponsoring the fireworks, beginning on July 4th at dusk.
Mantoloking: During Mantoloking’s Weekend Centennial Celebration, there will be fireworks. For more information about the fireworks and all of Mantoloking’s 4th of July celebrations, please contact [email protected]
Lakehurst: Lakehurst presents an entire day’s worth of activities (on the 4th) capped off with a fireworks display at dusk. During the day, their car show starts at 9AM and concludes by 3PM. Their parade starts at 11AM. For more information, contact 732- 657-4141.
Manchester: Celebrations in Manchester (which are on July 2nd) include children’s rides and a concert performed by Nicholas King and the Fabulous Grease Band. The festivities begin at 6PM at Harry White Lake in Whiting. The fireworks star at dusk.
Plumsted: Plumsted’s festivities begin at around noon on July 2nd at New Egypt High School. There will be bands, rides, crafts and food. Fireworks start at dusk.
Toms River Area
Beachwood & Toms River: Bayside Avenue Beach Front is where this 4th of July celebration will occur. The event starts at 8PM on Independence Day, which includes fireworks.
Ocean Gate: Ocean Gate has their parade on July 4 at 10AM on Ocean Gate Avenue.
Pine Beach: Pine Beach has their parade on July 4 at 9AM at the Pine Beach Firehouse.
Lavallette: On July 3rd at 7PM, Lavallette will hold their festivities at the Gazebo on Bay Blvd and Philadelphia Avenue. First there will be a concert and then by dusk there will be fireworks.
Seaside Heights: As always, there will be 4th of July fireworks at Seaside Height’s Oceanfront after dusk.
Seaside Park: A tradition in Seaside Park, their bike parade, will take place this year on July 4th at 9:30 AM starting at the 5th Avenue pier and concluding at the 14th avenue pier.
Barnegat: The Independence Day celebration in Barnegat starts on July 4th at 7:30 PM at the municipal dock for a concert. Fireworks begin at dusk.
Barnegat Light: Barnegat Light has their festivities on July 3rd with their parade which starts at 16th street at 7PM. Afterwards, at the bay dock area between 9th and 10th street, there will be an awards ceremony and a concert with the Liberty Band. Firehouse SocialHhall on 10th Blvd is the rain location.
LBI/Beach Haven: You can catch their celebration on July 4th at Taylor Avenue with Fireworks over the Bay.
Harvey Cedars: Harvey Cedars presents their “Craft Day at the Bay” on July 2nd from 10AM-4PM at Sunset Park on West Salem Avenue.
Tuckerton: Tuckerton will have their Independence Day parade on July 2nd at 10AM starting at the Village Shops and ending at the Seaport. By 4PM there will be more events at the Seaport including a baby parade and fireworks at dusk.
