This Halloween, check out the costume parades, hayrides, haunted trails, fundraisers, LIVE shows and all of your favorite and scary fun. This guide features events from all areas of Ocean County. Here is your guide to Halloween 2013 in Ocean County:
Northeast Ocean County
The Pioneer Hose Fire House in Brick presents ‘Eakfest’, thier annual Halloween fundraiser to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It takes place on October 18th from 5pm-10pm and October 19th from 3pm-10pm. Enjoy games for kids, hayrides, face painting and their scary haunted trail.
It’s the 2nd Annual Boo at the Boardwalk on Jenkinson’s Boardwalk, with Halloween family fun. And there are four opportunities to catch it: October 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th from Noon-4pm.
Brick is holding their Trunk or Treat on October 23rd from 6pm-8pm at the Drum Point Sports complex. It’s a family fun event featuring candy, a costume parade and a pumpkin patch.
On October 27th from 1pm-3pm, see the 37th Annual Halloween Parade and Fall Festival at the Community Park in Point Pleasant. Watch the floats, the marching bands and participate in the costume contest.
The Lakewood Police, Fire, EMTs and Recreation Departments invite kids ages 1-10 for a Halloween Costume Parade at Lakewood Town Square at 5pm on October 31st. The event features FREE trick or treat bags. There is a also face and pumpkin painting at 6pm.
The Strand Center for the Arts in Lakewood presents the classic hit of ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ at 8pm on October 31st. Only 150 seats are available for this show. Reserve yours so you can experience and participate in this rockin’ show. There are also 3 special guests narrating the story.
Northwest Ocean County
Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson invites you to the 22nd Annual Freight Fest – every weekend from now until October 27th.
Enjoy the Halloween Hayride and Trick or Trunk at Manchester High School from 7pm-9pm on October 25th.
Bring the kids from 3pm-5pm on October 31st to Main Street in New Egypt to trick or treat at the downtown businesses.
Toms River Area
Music Man Ice Cream Shoppe in Lavallette presents special Halloween Costume Party Shows during all regular show time performances on October 26th.
The 2nd Largest Halloween Parade in the World returns in 2013 to Ocean County…but now enjoy it on the Saturday before Halloween. It’s the 75th Annual Toms River Fire Company Halloween Parade on Main Street at 7pm on October 26th. Tens of thousands of people will be there to see the marching bands, Halloween floats, costumes and family fun.
Experience the iconic 1931 classic film Frankenstein – this time with new LIVE music from the Garden State Philharmonic. It’s at the Ocean County College Arts and Community Center Theatre in Toms River at 8pm on October 26th.
On October 31st, Lavallette welcomes you to their Trunk or Treat at the Tennis Court Parking Lot. The event is from 6pm-8pm.
Southern Ocean County
An Ocean County Halloween Classic – the Annual Waretown Haunted Hayride and Skit contest returns to Waretown Lake from 7pm-10pm on October 18th and 19th. Winners of the Skit contest receive monetary prizes.
A Halloween parade and costume contest will be featured during Manahawkin’s Fall Harvest Festival from 11am-5pm on October 19th at Manahawkin Lake Park. Bring the entire family to see the costumes and vendors. And if you are daring enough, there is a jalapeno eating contest.
The Surf City Hotel is having their Halloween Party fundraiser on October 19th from 8pm-1am. Tickets are $30 and it benefits the Surf City Volunteer Fire Company. Bring your costume!
The Lacey Municipal Alliance presents their costume party at Lacey Middle School on October 20th from 10:30am-1:30pm. Tickets are $5 in advance or $7 at the door. Enjoy music, food, crafts and Halloween fun.
You’ve seen the new show Sleepy Hollow on TV. It’s time to experience it LIVE at the Stafford Township Arts Center with the performance of ‘The Legend of Sleepy Hollow’. It is presented by the Ocean Professional Theatre Company and runs from October 23rd-27th.
The Tuckerton Seaport invited to their Haunted Seaport for three scary nights (October 24th-26th). From 6pm-8pm, stroll in the seaport for some haunted fun, hayrides, food, music and a pumpkin patch.
The Riddlesbrood Touring Theare Company presents a Murder Mystery entitled ‘Haunted Halloween at the Jersey Shore’. It will be performed on October 25th at 6PM at the Engleside Inn. The admission cost includes dinner and the show.
It’s the Halloween 5K Fun Run at the West Tuckerton Fire Company in Little Egg Harbor on October 26th. The race is $30 + $2.50 sign up fee and starts at 9am.
Gazebo Park in Barnegat is home to the Halloween Fall Festival on October 26th at 11am to 3pm. Celebrate Halloween with Pumpkin Bingo, rides, food, a costume parade and family fun.
