While Earth Day may officially fall on Wednesday, April 22nd in 2015, there are many local events honoring this annual event before and after this date. 2015 marks the 45th year for this holiday. Bring the entire family to these local Earth Day happenings. Here is your guide to Earth Day 2015 in Ocean County:
The Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve in Tuckerton presents a workshop on creating your own pollinators garden on April 18th from 10am-11:30am. Resources and information will be provided to those who pre-register.
The 5th Annual Brick Green Fair is on April 18th from 10am-2pm at Brick Township High School. Check out all of the different vendors and exhibitors.
On April 25th – Clean Ocean Action presents Beach Sweeps throughout many Ocean County beaches from 9am to Noon: Bay Head, Brick, Lakewood, Lavallette, LBI, Ocean Gate, Point Pleasant Borough, Point Pleasant Beach, Seaside Heights, Seaside Park and Toms River.
Head to the FREE Earth Day events at Brown’s Woods Preserve in Toms River. There will be a nature walk, crafts and more. It is on April 25th from 9am-1pm.
Riverfront Park hosts the 2015 Point Pleasant Borough Earth Day event on April 25th from noon to 4pm. In addition to the vendors and exhibitors, there will be food, music and 1500 native tree seedings will be given out.
Cattus Island County Park in Toms River presents an Earth Day celebration with crafts, nature walks, games and a scavenger hunt. Check it out on April 25th from 12:30pm-3:00pm.
