Fishing at the shore is a way of life for many Ocean County locals. Once the spring season is in full swing, fishermen are ready to go! The longer daylight hours, comfortable weather conditions and newly stocked waters make April an exciting month to get outdoors, grab a pole and tackle box and catch some fish!
Trout fishing season in New Jersey begins in April. Designated lakes and streams have been stocked three weeks prior to opening day. A New Jersey license and trout stamp is required for residents at least sixteen years old and younger than seventy. Ocean County waters will continue to be stocked after opening day on Mondays between April 6th and May 18th.

The general fishing regulations through May 31st are: minimum size: 9 inches & daily limit: 6. The abundance of access points and stocked streams make fishing in Ocean County fun for the whole family!
