Even though we are well into the autumn season and October events like Chowderfest and the 18-mile run are over, Long Beach Island is still a happening place for locals and tourists. There are plenty of reasons to visit LBI this fall 2014. Here are a few happening reasons:
Ocean County Library
1) The Long Beach Island Branch of the Ocean County Library (in Surf City) is open all year long and they are hosting several events every week. There are afternoon movies screened every Friday, as well as a variety of programs for families and seniors.
2) The arts are alive and well in Long Beach Island during the autumn and into the winter months. Bellarine Theatre Company presents Bat Boy: The Musical at the LBI Foundation for the Arts and Sciences from October 23rd to October 25th. And the Surflight Theatre in Beach Haven hosts their holiday season performance of The Wizard of Oz from November 28th to December 21st.
2014 Surf Fishing Classic
3) If you love surf fishing, then LBI presents their 60th Annual Surf Fishing Tournament occurring now through November 30th. Participants will be competing on the LBI beaches daily for a chance to win numerous prizes. There are also several local sponsors.
Here is another fantastic reason to visit Long Beach Island this season: Seawall ARTifacts is open. Located on Long Beach Island, Seawall ARTifacts features handcrafted items that are uniquely crafted by locals, for locals. Come to Seawall ARTifacts to check out their original LBI artwork, local maps, jewelry, home décor and other items with a coastal flair. These items are great for your shore home or as a gift. And Seawall ARTifacts has been voted as the Winner of the Specialty Gift category in the Happening List for 3 years straight.
Seawall ARTifacts features the perfect autumn gifts in 2014. Enjoy a fall seasonal scent from Rewinded Candles. Each candle is handcrafted from a wine bottle and includes a fragrance of Spiked Cider: Warm apple with cinnamon, clove and dark buttered rum. And just in time for the holiday season in Ocean County, Seawall ARTifacts welcomes new holiday ornaments in stock.
Check out Seawall ARTifacts and their great gifts available for purchase on the Seawall ARTifacts website and in their store at 7712 S Long Beach Blvd in Beach Haven Crest. They are open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through December. You can also call Seawall ARTifacts at (609) 492-0800.
