May 2015 comes to an end in Ocean County. Meanwhile, the summer season has already arrived at the Jersey Shore. This weekend in Ocean County features the Look who’s Cooking Fundraiser, the Rock for the Nurses 5-Year Anniversary Party and the World of Color: Opening Show. There are plenty of events for all to enjoy this weekend. Here is what’s happening in Ocean County, this final weekend of May 2015:
Friday, May 29th
Come get some delicious food at the Look Who’s Cooking Fundraiser at 6pm at the Christ Episcopal church in Toms River. It is sponsored by Family Planning Center of Ocean County. The event features samples from many great cooks. Tickets are $40 in advance or $45 at the door.
The Ocean County Artists Guild in Island Heights features a music show with Mary Lutton at 7pm. Tickets are a $5 donation.
Saturday, May 30th
The Kick Off Summer Festival is at the Barnegat Docks from Noon-6pm. Come by for the food trucks, vendors, kids games and more.
Legendary country rockers Kinderhook return to Point Pleasant (for the first time in 30 years) at Idle Hour for the Rock for the Nurses 5-Year Anniversary Party from 1pm-7pm. Tickets are $20. The fundraiser features the rock concert and an all you can eat BBQ buffet with a pig roast, soft drinks, games and more.
The Grunin Center in Toms River features an Evening with Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis at 8pm. Tickets are $40.
It is the Opening Show for World of Color, from Daydreamer Productions, at Veterans Park in Bayville at 9pm. The 30-minute musical show features scenes from your favorite Disney movies that is great for the entire family.
Sunday, May 31st
The Lakehurst Historical Society celebrates their 25th Anniversary at the Lakehurst Community Center at 2pm. The festivities include a video presentation and refreshments.
There is a 5-course dinner benefit for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County at Ohana Grill in Lavallette at 5pm.
