It would be a mistake to miss out on this fun weekend in Ocean County. After all, this time of year features plenty of events at the Jersey Shore. This weekend in Ocean County features the Jersey Shore Festival, 26th Annual NJ State Chili & Salsa Cook-Off and the Ocean Fun Day Festival. With so many festivals in one weekend, you will truly have a festive time. Here is what’s happening in Ocean County, this third weekend of May 2015:
Friday, May 15th
Susan Cowsills, the youngest member of the 60s musical family the Cowsills, will be LIVE at the Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library at 7pm.
Saturday, May 16th
It is the 26th Annual NJ State Chili & Salsa Cook-Off in Downtown Toms River from 11am-5pm. Tasting kits are $6 for those who reserved before or $7 there. In addition to the delicious tastings, the event is open to everyone with LIVE music, food and vendors.
Head to Island Beach State Park for the 2015 Ocean Fun Day Festival from 11am-3pm. There will be exhibits, nature tours and children’s activities about science and environmentalism.
Jakes Branch County Park in Beachwood hosts their 4th Annual Yard, Garden and Native Plant Fair. Check out all of the gardening resources and guided natured walks.
Sunday, May 17th
Support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of New Jersey’s Great Strides Walk at 11am in Point Pleasant Beach. Come out and walk and make a donation.
The Grunin Center for the Arts in Toms River presents the ArtsPower performance of “Dog Loves Book”, which is for children. Tickets are $12 for this 1pm show.
The Jersey Shore Festival is this weekend in Seaside Heights. All around town, there will be LIVE music, activities like yoga, sports, vendors and fireworks. It also includes Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity, as they will build a new home in Seaside Heights.
The Spring Festival returns to Laurita Winery in New Egypt. Stop by for food trucks, music and wine.
