School is almost out, and summer is almost here in Ocean County. But it will sure feel like a great summer weekend at the Jersey Shore now. This weekend in Ocean County features the Privateers and Pirates Festival at the Tuckerton Seaport and the Jersey Shore Wine Festival. Enjoy our special schedule of local events occurring now. Here is what’s happening in Ocean County, this June 6th-8th weekend 2014:
Friday, June 6th
Easy listening music and lasers combine for Laser Mania from 8:30pm-10:30pm at the Robert J Novins Planetarium, which is located on the Ocean County College Toms River Campus.
Saturday, June 7th
The Havens Homestead Museum in Brick is having their annual Spring Yard Sale, featuring many discounted items for sale, from 9am-2pm.
Argh! Join the Tuckerton Seaport from 11am-8pm for the Privateers and Pirates Festival from 11am-8pm. Learn about pirate history, participate in a costume content, a treasure hunt and live to LIVE music.
At 7pm, check out the Strawberry Festival and Follies at Christ Lutheran Church in Whiting. The festivities include skits, music and a delicious strawberry dessert.
Sunday, June 8th
Support a great cause at the 14th Annual Walk With Ronald, starting at 8am at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson. Raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House, and then afterwards, enjoy the rest of the day inside of the theme park.
The Jersey Shore Wine Festival returns to FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door (or buy a 2 day pass for $25). Award-winning wineries will be there with samples of their best products.
