June arrives in Ocean County! And the weekends during June at the Jersey Shore are more than just beaches. This weekend in Ocean County features the Barnegat Bay Festival, the Ocean Gate EMS Food Truck Show and the Gentlemen of the Road Music Festival. Get ready for a full slate of events this weekend. Here is what’s happening in Ocean County, this first weekend of June 2015:
Friday, June 5th
Laurita Winery in New Egypt presents Country Line Dancing from 7pm-11pm. Admission is $5.45 in advance or $7.50 at the door.
Saturday, June 6th
Argh! It is the Privateers and Pirates Festival from 11am-5pm at the Tuckerton Seaport. Bring the family for the pirate-related treasure hunts, games, costumes, crafts, and music. Must pay the General Admission fee.
Ocean Gate EMS hosts their Food Truck & Vendor Extravaganza from Noon-7pm. Come by to see the food trucks, music, beer/wine garden, health screenings and more.
Sunday, June 7th
The 2015 Barnegat Bay Festival is from 10am-4pm at the Wanamaker Complex in Island Heights. This year’s theme is “Citizens & Science: Partners in Protection”. The activities include a canoe eco-tour, kayaking, music, sea animals, vendors, food and more.
The 2015 Lighthouse Film Festival is back in 2015. Dozens of films will be screened at the Island Baptist Church, the LBI Foundation and the LBI Historical Museum. There will also be parties and ceremonies all weekend in LBI.
Seaside Heights welcomes The Gentlemen of the Road Music Festival. Mumford & Sons, the Alabama Shakes, the Flaming Lips and other groups will perform at this major stopover festival. General admission is $179.
The South Jersey Canoe & Kayak Classic returns to Ocean County Park in Lakewood. Take part in paddling demonstrations, test padding, seminars and exhibits.
Taylor Avenue Ball Field in Beach Haven presents the Pour Into Summer Wine Festival with 10 New Jersey wineries, plus food from LBI restaurants, crafts, music and a car show. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
