Happy Independence Day Weekend, Ocean County! This holiday weekend is one of the most popular tourist weekends at the Jersey Shore. But there are also plenty of great events for the locals. This weekend in Ocean County features the Antler Scholarship Picnic and the LBI Freedom Fest. Show your true patriotic colors this holiday weekend. Friday, July 4th
Celebrate Independence Day with these Ocean County 4th of July fireworks.
Saturday, July 5th
Jared Martin, a native of Toms River, will perform patriotic standards at 11am. Catch it at the Island Heights Branch of the Ocean County Library.
The Ship Bottom Volunteer Fire Company presents their Summer Sizzle Block Party from 2pm-10pm. Enjoy music from The Rock Lobsters, the Big Whiskey Band and Virgin Vinyl. Bring the kids for children’s games, sports and crafts. Adults will enjoy the refreshing beverages on tap. Plus there are food vendors, a silent auction and an eating contest.
Daddy Yankee will be rockin’ at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson for a 7pm concert. Entrance is FREE with paid park admission.
Sunday, July 6th
The Brick Elks Lodge hosts their 2014 Antler Scholarship Picnic to benefit high school seniors. Enjoy the delicious food! Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 15 and under.
From the 4th-5th, enjoy LBI Freedom Fest 2014 at the Long Beach Township Municipal Building. On Friday, take part in a 5K that begins with registration at 8am. On Saturday, there is a classic car show at 11am, and at night watch a performance from music star Jay Sean. And then during the entire Freedom Fest, enjoy food vendors, kids rides and a beer & wine garden.
