The great thing about July is to see all of these local summer happenings. And there certainly are plenty of them at the Jersey Shore. This weekend in Ocean County features the Point Pleasant Jazz and Blues Festival, the Ice Cream Festival and ‘9-5: The Musical’. Get ready for a fantastic weekend with these events. Here is what’s happening in Ocean County, this third weekend of July 2014:
Friday, July 18th
Laurita Winery in New Egypt hosts a concert from ‘Tramps Like Us’ starting at 8pm.
Head to the Robert J Novins Planetarium at the Ocean County College Toms River campus for LaserOpolis, a music and laser show, at 8:30pm.
Jump Street Skate Park in South Toms River hosts a packed concert with the bands ‘Awakened’ and ‘Career Opportunities’. The show starts at 10pm and is $10 per person.
Saturday, July 19th
Check out the 33rd Annual Chicken BBQ hosted by the Pleasant Plains Fire Department in Toms River. In addition to delicious food, there will be fun children’s games and rides. The event occurs from Noon-7pm.
Sweet music fills the air at the Point Pleasant Jazz and Blues Festival. Check it out from Noon-8pm at Riverside Park. Bring the entire family to enjoy the kid’s activities, crafts, food vendors, a beer/wine garden and great music.
The 12th Annual New Jersey State Ice Cream Festival kicks off in Downtown Toms River at their new time of 3:00-8:30pm. Tasting kits at $6 before the event and $7 at the event. Enjoy the tasty ice cream.
Sunday, July 20th
The 3rd Annual Patron Show for the Pine Shore Art Association will take place from 1pm-4pm at the Stafford Township Fire Hall.
Daydreamer Productions presents ‘9 to 5: The Musical’ on Friday and Saturday at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Toms River. Admission is $12.
