February ends and March begins this weekend in Ocean County. But before spring arrives at the Jersey Shore, it is time to enjoy the events coming up. This weekend in Ocean County features the Winter Warm Up and Family Expo and the Arts as Business workshop. Get ready to have a fun-filled and exciting weekend. Friday, February 27th
Sculptor Brian Hanlon presents a workshop called ‘Arts as Business’, with essential details about promoting your art work better, at 4pm at the Toms River campus of Ocean County College.
Berkeley Youth and Cheer presents a dance for kids ages 5-9 from 5pm-7pm and ages 10+ from 7pm-10pm at the VFW Post 9503. Tickets are $10, which include pizza and soda.
Saturday, February 28th
Jenkinson’s Aquarium in Point Pleasant Beach is celebrating International Polar Bear Day from 9am-6pm. Cost includes general admission.
The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce presents their Winter Warm Up and Family Expo at St Mary’s Parish in Manahawkin from 10am-2pm. Bring the entire family to check out the activities: gaming trailers, a National Guard Call of Duty Virtual exhibit, winter warming seating, gardening workshops, food and more. And it is FREE to attend.
Check out ‘American Solider of the Great War’ a presentation on US soldiers during World War I. This FREE event starts at 2pm at the Jackson Branch of the Ocean County Library.
Sunday, March 1st
An Intergalactic Food Fest, from the USS Challenger Chapter of the Starfleet International Star Trek Fan Association, takes place from 1pm-5pm at the Seaside Heights Community Center.
