As we get closer and closer to Christmas in Ocean County, you can feel the excitement in the air. So many Holiday events are happening this weekend in Ocean County. But there are also other great events at the Jersey Shore. This weekend in Ocean County features a nationally published book tour stop and an annual 5K run. Friday, December 9th
Who says that the Jersey Shore doesn’t get any visitors during the winter? Check out the Special Presentation of “Seals: New Jersey’s Winter Visitors” at the Jacques Cousteau Coastal Education Center in Tuckerton from 7PM-8PM. You’ll discover why seals come to New Jersey for the winter in this interactive presentation.
Saturday, December 10th
Check out nationally published nature author David Wheeler (who just released his new book: “Wild New Jersey: Nature Adventures in the Garden state”) for his Book Tour stop at Barnes and Nobles in Brick from 1PM-3PM. And you might be able to get his autograph.
At 2PM at the Island Branch Library in Surf City, check out Craft Crafts for Kids. It should be fun for the whole family.
The Ocean County College Planetarium presents Pajama Night: Story Telling Under the Stars at 6PM. For just $8 a person, this family-friendly event invites you to bring pajamas, a pillow or a blanket and relax while you watch great stories under the stars.
Our nightlife pick this week goes to Hemingway’s Café in Seaside Heights. There’s 2 awesome DJs and no cover before 11PM!
Sunday, December 11th
Attention Health and Fitness fans: It’s the 14th Annual Jingle Bells Run at 1:30PM at the Toms River Library. There’s a 1 mile fun run walk and then the 5K begins at 3:30PM through downtown Toms River. And all proceeds will benefit scholarships for local high school students.
