It is the dog days of summer, which means it is time for some summer fun. Take an opportunity to enjoy these local Jersey Shore events. This weekend in Ocean County features the Panic! at the Disco! Concert, the Fond Farewell Murder Mystery Dinner Show and the Festival of the Sea. Summer is coming to an end in a few weeks, so take this opportunity to go to these events. Here is what’s happening in Ocean County, this second weekend of August 2014:
Friday, August 8th
One of the most popular rock bands today is coming to the Pine Belt Arena in Toms River. Catch Panic! at the Disco! in concert tonight. They just released a new album this year and are ready to rock at the Jersey Shore. The concert begins at 6:30pm.
Saturday, August 9th
Sunset Park in Harvey Cedars hosts their Hooked on Fishing Tournament for Kids from 8am-2pm. Its for children ages 5-17. Local groups, such as the LBI Fishing Club, sponsor the event. There will be prizes for participants and instructional exhibits.
Head to Island Beach State Park for Harvest the Bay Day from 3pm-8pm. The event features local seafood, entertainment and nature activities.
MTM Players presents their murder mystery dinner show of ‘A Fond Farewell’ at the American Legion in New Egypt. Tickets are $35 at the door, and includes the dinner. Enjoy this funny show, which begins at 6:30pm.
See John Sebastian, Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer, LIVE at the Long Beach Island Branch of the Ocean County Library at 7pm. Enjoy this FREE outdoor concert.
Sunday, August 10th
The Jackson VFW Post hosts a benefit for Angelina Roberta, to help with her treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The benefit begins at Noon.
The Festival of the Sea at St Francis Community Center in Long Beach Island takes place every evening this weekend. Guests pay just one price for all of the rides. Plus, there are games, a raffle and refreshments.
It is the final weekend to see the Bellarine Theatre Company production of Oklahoma at Pinelands Regional High School in Little Egg Harbor.
