Some people might look at the calendar and be sad that summer ends this Labor Day weekend. However, just because the tourists are gone, that does not mean summer is gone yet. This weekend in Ocean County features the 28th Annual Ocean County Historical Society Antique Faire, the LBI Historical Museum Fall Craft Fair & Market Sale and ‘A Chorus Line’ opens at the Surflight Theatre. After this weekend, it will be local’s summer for all to enjoy in the area. Here is what’s happening in Ocean County, this final weekend of August 2014:
Friday, August 29th
92.3 AMP Radio and DJ Toro will be broadcasting LIVE at Jenks Club in Point Pleasant Beach starting at 9:30pm.
Saturday, August 30th
The Annual Labor Day Weekend tradition continues at the Ocean County Garage in Toms River. It is the 28th Annual Ocean County Historical Society Antique Faire from 9am-4pm. This family-fun FREE event features antique appraisals, artists, music, used books, collectibles, food and more.
The Lakewood Elks Lodge presents a Pig Roast Competition starting at 1pm. Come out and root for the competing chefs.
New Jersey vocal group RB Express will be playing their best doo wop songs in a FREE concert at 2pm at the Ocean County Library in Toms River. Enjoy these great classical tunes.
Barnegat Light State Park welcomes you for a Moonlight Hike at 7pm. The event includes roasting marshmallows.
Sunday, August 31st
The Long Beach Island Historical Museum in Beach Haven hosts their 2014 Fall (yes, it is Fall) Craft Fair & Market with a bake sale. It starts at 9am and ends at 4pm. The crafters will be selling items at nearby Veteran’s Park.
Over 70 different fine arts vendors will be at Viking Village in Barnegat Light for their Art and Craft show. It is from 10am-4pm.
‘A Chorus Line’, one of the most popular Broadway musicals of all time, opens this weekend at the Surflight Theatre in Beach Haven. With memorial tunes like “I Can Do That” and “What I Did for Love”, this is a great show to see.
