As summer draws to an end, this weekend might be a great chance to check out the beach. But you should also check out the great events at the Jersey Shore. This weekend in Ocean County features the 14th Annual Lacey 5K Race & One Mile Fun Run, the Ocean County Baby Parade and the Manahawkin Hoe Down. Friday, August 22nd
The Beachwood Community Center hosts the “No One Fights Alone” 1st Annual Chicken and Pasta Dinner from 6pm-11pm. There will be DJ music and a wine raffle. Proceeds benefits helping people who live with cancer.
Check out the Summer Smooth Jazz Series concert of New Urban Jazz presented by Ebony Maze Productions. The show occurs at 9pm at Lake Terrace in Lakewood.
Saturday, August 23rd
The 14th Annual Lacey 5K Race & One Mile Fun Run begins at 8am at Gille Park. The 5K race costs $20-$32; the One Mile Fun Run costs $10-$20 and the Kiddie Dash is $5. There will be ribbons and FREE Italian Ice for all.
A crab race to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes and the Food Allergy Anaphylaxis Network will take place at Casino Pier in Seaside Heights at 6pm. Crabs can be purchased for $5.
Sunday, August 24th
Bring your little tot for the 2014 Ocean County Baby Parade on the Boardwalk in Seaside Height at noon. It is for children up to age 6. Prizes will be given out.
Yeehaw! The Manahawkin Hoe Down is this weekend at the Manahawkin Flea Market. Enjoy country music as this family-friendly event.
Food Trucks and Fire Pit returns to Laurita Winery all weekend. There will be a variety of food trucks, plus entertainment and other fun activities.
