It is the middle of April 2015 in Ocean County, and it is starting to feel like spring. So let’s ‘spring’ out of our seats and check out these local events at the Jersey Shore. This weekend in Ocean County features the Ocean County Library Student Film Festival and the LBI Wedding Road Show. Plan your weekend around this schedule. Here is what’s happening in Ocean County, this third weekend of April 2015:
Friday, April 17th
There is a youth dance at the Berkeley Rec Center featuring a DJ, food and prizes. Kids in grades K-4th can attend from 6pm-7:45pm and kids in grades 5th-8th can attend from 8pm-9:45pm. There is a $10 entrance fee.
Saturday, April 18th
Support a great cause at POAC’s Autism: Walk for a Difference from 11am-2pm at Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin.
About two dozen bands will be rockin’ the Holy Cross Church in Toms River for Tech Fest Five. Doors open at 1pm. Tickets are $15 and supports the OCVTS Hopes & Dream Scholarships.
The Ocean County Library Student Film Festival takes place from 6pm-9pm at the Toms River Branch. Come out and support these students and their movies.
Sunday, April 19th
Attention future brides: The LBI Wedding Road Show, featuring a tour of locations, begins at 9:30am and ends at 1pm. Check-in locations include the Holiday Inn of Manahawkin, the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce office in Ship Bottom or the Tuckerton Seaport.
The Grunin Center for the Arts in Toms River presents the Duquesne University Tamburitzans. Tickets are $30 for this 2pm show. The performance features songs and dances of Eastern European culture.
